Day Four

We camped near the trailhead of the hike into Collins Gulch. It was a great campsite with views of the mesa and down into the canyon. We decided to sleep outside since it was a beautiful night. With such little light pollution the stars were just amazing.

The destination for the day was a ruin about 5 miles in. Mileage for the day: 10.

Yes, that is frost on our sleeping bags. You know the sleeping bag is working well when there is frost on it.

This scene is typical of dozens we witnessed throughout the day. Another beautiful canyon.

This is a kiva with the top still intact.

This is the one named ruin on this particular hike although we were able to spot another one.

The Narrows.

This is an old cowboy camp right off the trail. Pretty neat look into our history.
